PATW– 2015
Present around the world competition
Date: 8th March 2015
The IET, Pune Local Network, organized a local level presentation competition Present Around the World (PATW) at PG section of E&TC Dept. of Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Engineering, Pune, on 8th March 2015. The competition aimed to provide the forum for young engineers and technicians, aged 18 to 26 to display their ideas and to give the expertise guidance. The emphasis was on the presenter's presentation skills rather than technical content, enabling competitors at varying levels of their studies or career to participate on an equal footing.
The IET is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community, with more than 150,000 members in 127 countries and offices in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. The IET provides a global knowledge network to facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote the positive role of science, engineering and technology in the world.
Total 147 students sent their abstract for the competition. Around 105 abstracts were selected. Students from different colleges like SGGS Nanded, VPCOE Baramati, DY PatilAkurdi, COEP Shivajinagar ,BharatiVidyapeethKatraj etc. participated in the competition. The competition was held at PG Section, Electronics & Telecommunication Department, SKNCOE, Pune-41.
Students from various branches like Mechanical, Electrical, Computer/IT, Electronics participated in the competition. Presentation Topic were from various domains like Nanotechnology, Vocoder, Robotics, Marine energy, Hydrokinetic energy, 3D Printing, Fusion Reactor, Heat Transfer. More emphasis was on presentation skill rather than technical content. Presentations were evaluated by expertise from industry and academia from various streams on the basis of relevance to approach, presentation and understanding, focused areas, originality, technical strength, applicability and methodology
